What is 3Qs?

3QS is an artistic audit of all cultural actors in France, Canada and abroad. It began in January 2010, will be completed in December 2020. Hear and see a selection of artists and cultural actors in all disciplines, interviewed (and filmed) on their professional arts practice.

The relevance of the project lies in its principle: freedom of expression and formal constraints (3 specific questions, three video vignettes of one minute each, 10 years).
3Qs is the image and word, those involved in culture.
3Qs intended to be an international database of a new type of all disciplines.
3Qs reflects a shared reality between the personalities of creation, while questioning individual problems.

• Q1: The first question is presented by the person, his work, his professional activity.
• Q2 & Q3: The questions two and three question the intimate relationship of the interviewee about his commitment to his political commitment, philosophical and cultural.

This audit takes the time of the meeting.about 10 interviews were conducted monthly during the first 6 months. The meeting can last between 2 minutes and 4 hours.
3Qs goes to the rhythm of the interviewee in order to be present during registration.
3Qs is a singular object, artistic and practical, in the midst of a multitude of representations consensual.
3Qs wants an objective reference.
3Qs part of the ideals of the confrontation between artists, personalities, leaders of structures, policy makers ... cultural responding to the questions of everyone on the place of artistic creation in the world today.
3Qs promotes the emergence of new collaborative projects with a European and international level by linking individuals and their desires.
3Qs is a contemporary look at the creation in a given period. Across 10 years, there will be currents and trends, 3Qs will, in this regard, a short instant of writing.
3Qs is free and rebellious.
The implementing rules of 3Qs are defined and imposed on the directors, partners, whoever they are.
3Qs is made under the Free Art License: words and pictures are free data, 3Qs not impaired.

Instructions

1 - The material is light: smartphone, digital camera. HD or not. Minimum 720p.
2 - If possible a lapel microphone (the hands-free phone works fine). If not a quiet place for goog voice recording.
3 - no makeup.
4 - no lights.
5 - No rehearsal, no time for reflection off camera, before recording.
Leave and save the time for reflection, if any.
6 - One fixed plan, no zoom, the camera is between the two persons. It's a face to face.
7 - Limitations: 1 minute to answer (it must be announced). If overflow, do not cut, wait until the end, then let the silence a few seconds. The cuts are made ​​to mount to reach up to 70/75 seconds.
